What We're All About..
The Scrap Yarn Project is about going green, and helping others! Don't let your scrap yarn, cloth, or thread go to waste! SYP has many brilliant ideas on what you can do to reduce, reuse, and recycle what may have once been thought of as waste to be tossed in the trash. And what you may not need for yourself could be desperately needed by others!
What's Up 2008 ? ?
This year the Scrap Yarn Project is rounding up knitters and their scrap yarn to knit up all the
hats, scarves, and mitts they can!
These items will be collected and donated to Bear Your Heart Community
Outreach, based in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada, to be handed out at their annual Christmas
charity dinner.
Bear Your Heart Community Outreach was chosen this year, our first
year, because the co-founder is a good and wonderful friend. Bear Your Heart has been doing amazing things
in the community with more incredible things planned.
I encourage everyone to check this charity out, and anybody interested in donating items to be handed out
to children on Christmas via SYP can contact me, or get in
touch with the wonderful people at Bear Your Heart.
A drop-off location will soon be made available (updates will be available as I recieve them), or I can
be emailed to do pick-ups.
